HAVE YOUR SAY ABOUT ALCOHOL SERVICES
ANYONE who has had recent experience of NHS alcohol services in Exeter and East Devon is being invited to share their views on the services and whether or not they found them useful and effective.
An Alcohol Strategy Group has been set up by Devon's Local Involvement Network (LINk), an independent initiative supported by the Department of Health, that gather and feedback residents views to commissioners on health and care services across the county.
The group has been asked by Devon Drug and Alcohol Action Team (Devon DAAT) to take part in the current Alcohol Needs Assessment, which will ultimately decide on the alcohol services to be provided from next year.
The group is dedicated to securing the best possible services for anyone who has experienced problems with alcohol, particularly the estimated 19,000 alcohol dependents in the county, and represents a real opportunity to get services suited to people's needs. It is chaired by Tom Gard of Soberlink.
LINk Devon is keen to hear from anyone who has sought advice or accessed services for alcohol misuse issues, either for themselves or on someone else's behalf, whether it was through their GP, at a hospital or through agencies such as Addaction and ENDAS (Exeter, East and Mid Devon Substance Misuse Team) and other services including charities.
You can give your views without having to give your personal details or join the group by visiting www.linkdevon.org.uk or by calling 01404 549045.
