Do you have a view on the needs of disabled children and young people?
The southwest regional Aiming High for Disabled Children Board are seeking the views and wanting to hear about the experiences of voluntary sector service providers and users. Has your organisation been funded to provide services for or do you have contact with disabled children and young people or their parents and carers?
The Care Forum invites you to join a discussion group bringing together eight voluntary sector organisations from across the south west concerned with these issues. The discussion groups will give those attending the chance to share their views on the experiences of children, young people and their carers and their access to appropriate services.
The group will meet twice this year for half a day. Each representative will be paid at a rate of £50 per hour to include travel costs to The Vassall Centre, Gill Avenue, Fishponds, Bristol, BS16 2QQ. The first meeting will take place on Monday, 12 July, 2010 from 10am-12.45pm.
To register your interest in joining the discussion groups contact Katharine Gonzales at events@thecareforum.org.uk (0117 958 9345.

Share your experiences of what works well and where the gaps exist in services. Have your say on what improved services might look like. Drawing on the direct experiences of your service users these discussions will provide a unique opportunity to influence policy and to shape the direction of services at a regional level. Places on this discussion group will be limited to eight attendees from across the region, although there will be other opportunities to share your views.
