Quality counts at Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust

All NHS trusts are now required to produce annual ‘Quality Accounts' - reports to the public about the quality of services that they provide, with the emphasis on patient safety, effectiveness and patient experience.
The reports will help patients and the public understand:- What an organisation is doing well - Where improvements are required - What the organisation's priorities for improvement are for the coming year - How the organisation has involved staff, people who use its services and other people and groups in determining priorities for improvement - Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust is keen to hear your views about what is important with regard to quality. It's not what the Trust thinks that counts, but what you think. The kind of things that could be covered might include, for example:infection rates - the safety and suitability of discharge from hospital- whether patients' privacy and dignity is maintained at all times- whether patients are helped with eating and drinking when necessary- the number of patients who have falls while in hospital- levels of satisfaction with overall standards of care and serviceThese are just examples of some of the areas that could be covered, but we need your views to make the accounts meaningful.Help us shape our Quality Account to meet your needs LINk Devon has agreed to gather your views and let us know what you think.

[Northern Devon Healthcare Trust manages North Devon District Hospital (NDDH) in Barnstaple, as well as local NHS community services, including five community hospitals (in Bideford, Torrington, Holsworthy, South Molton and Ilfracombe), Barnstaple Health Centre, Lynton resource centre, district nursing, therapy and sexual health services.
