LINk Host

What is the role of the Host?

The role of a ‘Host' organisation is to enable, support and facilitate the activities of a LINk?

• Encourages and supports more people to get involved in shaping local care services; from helping to decide what services should be commissioned, to influencing the way they are run
• Actively canvases every section of the community for their views and experiences of local care services
• Provides the community with a mechanism for monitoring and reviewing local care services and the ability to hold them to account
• Tell those who commission, run and scrutinise local care services, what local people have recommended to help improve services

The role of the Host includes recruiting people and groups to LINk Devon, assisting in the governance and administrative arrangements in respect of LINk Devon activities, keeping financial records and communicating the activities of LINk Devon and its outcomes to local communities.

Who is the Host?

East Devon Volunteer Support Agency (EDVSA) supports local voluntary organisations, community groups and charities in East Devon to grow and flourish in the work they do.

We play a key role in promoting and enabling strategic partnerships through the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP), Children's Trust Local Forum, Devon Consortium and the Devon Compact Hub.

EDVSA facilitates East Devon's Voluntary and Community Forum, providing networking opportunities for local groups to meet and discuss wider policies and initiatives that may impact on their organisations.

EDVSA also houses a number of local and Devon wide projects within the community. EDVSA supports LINk Devon on behalf of the Devon Association of CVS (DACVS).
